Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson was her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox was her father. Lennox was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 1970s where she learned the flute piano and the harpsichord over three years. Lennox was able to survive on an allowance for students, and worked part-time to help supplement her income. Lennox did not feel happy with the quality of her performance compared with other students at the Royal Academy and began looking for alternative paths. Lennox was initially a flute-player within the band Dragons Playground. However, she left before New Faces, the I.T.V. talent contest. Between 1977 and 1980, she was the lead vocalist for The Tourists, a British Pop band. She began to meet Dave Stewart, with whom she would form the pop-duo Eurythmics.
